DIY New Year’s Party Poppers

Ever since my husband and I had kids, we rarely go our for New Year’s. So, I always like to find fun things that we can do as a family to make ringing in the new year fun. I came across a pin on Pinterest of a DIY party popper and I adapted it for New Year’s. DIY New Year’s Party Poppers are so easy to make and can be themed for birthdays, gender reveals, holidays, and pretty much any occasion. I hope you enjoy!

Cardboard tubes (toilet paper, paper towels, etc.)

Foil or pretty paper
Tissue Paper
Confetti

Tape

String

First, you will need to cut the cardboard tube into two equal pieces. I used a toilet paper roll.

Next, you’ll need to wrap each half in foil or paper and trim the excess off of the ends. I used clear tape to hold the foil on to the cardboard.

After this, you’ll want to lay both pieces down on a sheet of tissue paper. Roll the tissue paper until you get to the end and then place tape on it to seal it. However, make sure you don’t place the tape in the center because this is where you will break open your popper. Twist one end of the tissue paper to “close” it so you can fill the popper with confetti.

Once you have poured the confetti in, twist the other end of the tissue paper, and then tie both ends with the string.

Your popper is ready to bust open!

You can print personalized stickers for birthdays, gender reveals, etc. to make it more fun!

I added an instructional video below to go along with my instructions in case they were a little hard to follow. I hope y’all liked this DIY craft! I’d love to hear your comments!
