DIY Dollar Store Easter Baskets

DIY Dollar Store Easter Baskets

It’s almost that time again. Peter Cottontail will come hopping down the Bunny Trail and bring Easter baskets to all the good little boys and girls. This year, I decided that I was going to try to do Easter frugally. That meant utilizing the Dollar Tree and places with dollar bins, such as The Dollar Spot at Target.

The Dollar Tree in my town actually didn’t have a lot of Easter stuff out yet. However, I was able to make it work. I am using plastic Easter buckets that I got from Walmart last year that were less than a dollar. You can also use tins in The Dollar Spot at Target or baskets from the Dollar Tree.

I got a stuffed bunny, “floam,” jelly beans, chocolate marshmallow eggs, and peeps. My son got blue and my daughter got pink. My Dollar Tree didn’t have Easter grass yet, so I improvised. I got shredded paper from the party section.

They also had really cool stuff like bubbles, silly putty, and finger paint. There were SO many other options to choose from such as stickers, mermaid dolls, Matchbox cars, and more. And the candy … The choices were endless.

So, I totally recommend checking out your local Dollar Tree and dollar spots such as Target and Walmart for your Easter shopping this year. You’ll score some amazing bargains and your kids will be super happy on Easter morning!
