This peach sweet tea recipe is a classic southern drink but with a twist. A classic sweet tea is made with just tea, sugar, water and maybe a wedge of lemon – but not this. This drink infuses fresh peaches into a simple syrup and then it all gets blended in with steeped black tea.
I am big fan of sweet tea, and this peach sweet tea hit the spot. A refreshing drink for any time of the day.
Peach Sweet Tea Recipe
What you will need:
- 6 Black Tea bags (I use Lipton)
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 peach; peeled, pitted, diced
- water to fill pitcher
Directions:
Add 2 cups of water to a small saucepan and add tea bags. Bring to a boil, remove from heat and let steep for 20 minutes
In another small saucepan combine sugar and water together and bring to a simmer. Once the sugar dissolves add in peaches and allow to simmer for another 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and let cool.
Using an immersion blender, blend the peach and sugar mixture together
Place the steeped tea into a large pitcher. Using a sieve, strain the pulp from the sugar/peach mixture
Top pitcher off with water, chill and serve on ice.
